Read more...In this Mark Cleghorn is shooting off camera flash on the beach with Heather our model for today. The shoot starts off on the sand dunes using one speedlite connected to a quantum battery pack for fast flash recycle. Using a Lastolite hotrod Octa box to give a soften to the image, but some of the most dramatic shots during the shoot was taken with just the raw flash on the dunes and beach.
Marks shooting with a 70-200mm and 12-24 sigma using the Canon 5d MarkII and the flash wave iii to trigger the flash.

Andy Kruczek has worked around the world as a photographer in the Fashion, Beauty and Advertising sectors. Most recently he has become recognized as one of the foremost photographers within the UK hairdressing Industry.
In this three part film, Andy is shooting for one of his clients Nick, these shots are for an annual L'ORÉL Colour Competition within the hair industry. Andy talks about his studio and the set up that he has within the premises, which allows him to be fully equipped for his clients. Variety is the key for Andy's work with hair making sure he has captured the images that the client is looking for.
Listening to the clients needs and mood boards are key for his work, making sure that what the client wants and the style reflects in the images and work together with the rest of the elements with the photograph, Making sure that the lighting, pose, style and hair all work together.

Each month on PhotoTraining4U members have a chance to have their images critiqued by Mark Cleghorn. The photo critique sessions run between 60 and 90 minutes, during which Mark comments on around 30-50 images.
This Photo Critique is in 3 parts, initially showing you the images that will be critiqued during the session followed by the image critiques them selves, so you can get the flavor.
The variety of images is a real mix from the beginner to the advanced, all the images follow a similar critique looking at how to improve lighting, composition, technique, pose, story telling to name but a few.
Critiques are designed to push members photography skills forward and are just one persons opinion as beauty is always in the eye of the beholder.
Mark Cleghorn has been Judging and Critiquing images all over the world since 1990, trained by the old Masters to constructively look at and dissect images to allow photographers to understand their weaknesses and strengths to allow them to become even better at their craft.

Read more...In this film mark is shooting a family of three in the studio. Mark shoots a whole range of backgrounds from Hikey to a mixture of paper back drops from red, blue and finishing the session on the orange background.
Mark is using a basic studio set up to start in this shoot, using two Elinchrom BX500 heads to light the background for Hikey measured at f16 and his main light is another Elinchrom BX500 flash with a large rotalux Softbox measured at f8. Mark talks about metering for the Colour backgrounds during the session itself.
