Paul's working with the handler in this shoot and some of these ponies are very rare and Paul wants to capture their personality with the shot as well as their structures and features. You get to see how Paul sets up the shots as well as controlling the session but safety is first with any animal and finding out what the animals temperament is like towards strangers is key when shooting.
Shooting with a handler is a lot easier when shooting any animal whether its ponies, horses, cats & dogs. Working with the owner or handler is so key to the photography because as the photographer you are not trying to control the animal as well as directing and shooting.
Paul has become an authority in the world of pet photography as well as an accomplished author and a world wide lecturer but more importantly he is an active photographer not just talking about it but still photographing the wonderful world of pets.
