Bride & Groom in Classic Architecture

Bride & Groom in Classic Architecture

One of the four parts of a Location Location session with one of Mark Cleghorn’s Real life Bride & Grooms, this quickie session takes part outside one of Cardiff icon buildings The National Museum of Wales. The massive columns are a perfect stage to set the clients against for the classical section of the shoot.
This film demonstrates how Mark uses a long zoom lens to crush focus, uses architecture for controlling the lighting pattern on the subjects and once again shows the power of his amazing speed posing techniques as he flows from shot to shot.

Bride & Groom in Modern Architecture

Bride & Groom in Modern Architecture

Classical but Modern is Mark Cleghorn’s use of a city building as he shoots one of his real life Bride and Grooms as part of a four part after the wedding Location Location session. This session takes part under a canopy of an office building, perfect for the on and off rain of the day, shooting in this location for the first time we see how Mark instantly picks his 3 main locations, the pillar, the glass and avenue, all perfect for modern yet classical wedding images.
This film shows his efficient but relaxed style of shooting, which comes from his commercial fashion days when time is money, this style allows him to bring momentum and energy to the shoot as well as a little humour. The rapport that he has with his bride and groom is infectious as the couple naturally relax and interact with each other, to give expressions that are real and not forced

The big lens is out again for shallow focus, combined with reflections of tinted glass in the architecture make great images with only a reflector to boost light were he needs it.

Confetti & Lace III – The Intro and Equipment

Confetti & Lace III – The Intro and Equipment

Real and RAW is the only way to explain this type of training as you get to see how a working photographer copes under the pressures of a real wedding day, nothing fake here, as even the images have only been touched by camera RAW in conversion, so no fancy Photoshop work in this film.

In this the first of a 5 part film shot live at a wedding, Mark Cleghorn talks about the wedding which he is about to shoot. In this section he also talks about the equipment he will be using on the day.
