In this film you get to see Anna Oakden’s 3rd homework critique after training. Anna is one of two SWPP Apprentices in training on PhotoTraining4U. Over the next 12 months you will be able to track Anna and Lisa, the other SWPP apprentice, on their training journey, using a combination of specific films on PhotoTraining4U and hands on monthly tuition with MarkCleghorn on route to becoming a better photographers. In this film Mark Cleghorn gives Anna her 3rd homework image critique, this time its images of a little girl on location, Anna discusses the session and how she handled the session and use of location. |

In this series of films you get to follow the two SWPP Apprentices, Lisa & Anna over 12 months on their route to higher qualifications and hence better photography skills. You will be able to track the Apprentices on their training journey using a combination of specific films on PhotoTraining4U as well as hands on monthly tuition with Mark Cleghorn on their route to becoming better photographers. In this 3 part film Mark lets the girls loose on a session with a young brother and sister on location to see how they are applying the key skills during a session using just natural light and a reflector. Day 3 Part 2 includes – Anna & Lisa get going shooting the kids in the park location, then Mark discusses the girls locations and the shoot. |

Family Portraits In The Studio 1
In this film we get to see Mark Cleghorn shooting a family of 4 in the studio, using a simple high key setup, that could be duplicated anywhere. This family is a long time client of Mark’s and every year they travel back to Cardiff to see family as well as to get there annual portraits shot. The benefit of this film is that you get to see in a again a real and raw style, a variety of simple family posing, as well as getting to see how Mark has to act the clown to coax a smile out of 2 children that did not want initially to be photographed. The equipment used in this film is a simple 2 light setup and a Lastolite HiLite and Train. |

Studio Portraits – The Power of Play
In this film you get to see a photographer working hard to get a smile, in fact any reaction at all from a young child in the studio with her parents. Even to an experienced photographer like Mark Cleghorn, there comes a time when you think what have i done different today? This session is hard work from the start but with a happy ending, it all takes place in a High Key studio setting for a family portrait shoot, Mark has to use all his skills of play to coax even a part xpression from this little girl. |

Mother & Baby part 2
Part 2 of a mother and baby shoot in the studio, in this part you get to see how Mark Cleghorn handles the delicate subject of a semi naked shot of both mother and baby. Mixing hi-key and mid key to allow for the colour and black and white image mix the client has asked for,, you see how the lighting simply changes to dramatically effect the image. |

Shooting Kids On Location Woodland Part 2
This is the second part of a film of 2 young children being photographed in a woodland location, where you get to see how Mark Cleghorn uses an every day location to great effect as well as acting the fool to coax a laugh out of the children. This film starts with a continuation of the shoot of the young brother and sister, including 2 other locations within a stones throw of the first. You get to see first hand how he can animate a subject from a distance in what some have referred to as his remote control posing. At the end of the film Mark reflects back on the session as the client leaves and discusses some basic childpsychology, or at least some working with children tips. |

Shooting The Family on Location – Autumn Leaves
Real Family, Real Portraits and Really RAW as you will see Mark Cleghorn photographing one of his clients for their annual portrait. This shoot makes the most out of the autumn leafs in the clients back garden as well as making use out of an old barn door as a background. Some would say that this is Cleghorn at his best as he manages to create a fun environment for the large family but still maintaining control of all the children to get a wide variety of shots. |

Shooting Kids On Location Woodland Part 1
In this 2 part film of 2 young children being photographed in a woodland location you see Mark Cleghorn acting the fool to coax a laugh out of the children to create some timeless images in this natural environment and with only a reflector. In this first film, he explains the locations initially including the natural light set up and why he uses the same wood location so much, as well as discussing the most common mistakes that photographer make when shooting in a similar scene. Once the session gets under way you see the natural way he interacts with the children as they are very familiar with Mark the photographer, as he has taken their portraits every year since they were born. |
