Shooting Hectre – For Guide Dogs

In this film you get to see Mark Cleghorn shooting outside of his comfort zone. This shoot is a commercial portrait of a new puppy, Hectre, who is about to go off for training to become a Guide Dog for the Blind in Wales.

Shot on location in a local park, Mark needs to shoot images for the Guide Dogs For The Blind 2009 schools campaign as well as for brochure use. The shoot is a tight brief in some ways and a relaxed, make it up as you go along in others as you will see.
Proof that photographing dogs is a different skill.

This film made in conjunction with The Lastolite School Of Photography and concentrates on the Ezybox Hotshoe, a softbox for speedlite flash and how to use them everyday.

The film gives you an insight in to using and getting the best out of a Lastolite Ezybox Hotshoe when shooting on locations.

Mark Cleghorn demonstrates the portable softbox and how to use it to control contrast, fully illuminate the subject as well as to balance the flash with the ambient or to dominate. Shot in New York you get to see how Mark manipulate the flash on location to create a variety of striking portraits.
