World renowned wildlife photographer Andy Rouse has long since had a passion for wild things. He has built his reputation on getting close, in fact very close to some of the world’s largest and most dangerous animals; in doing so, capturing some of the most exciting and evocative photographic images of wildlife found today. With a style all of his own, Andy is equally passionate about the message that his images convey and sees his work as contributing to the general appreciation of our precious wildlife, hopefully stimulating us all to act on their behalf.

Every month using a combination of images and teaching films you will get to see the Master at work and an insight into the exotic animals as well as those closer to home.

In this second chapter of Andy’s wildlife photography career Andy has now made the jump to full time professional photographer. These are what he calls the film years before the change to digital. He talks us through his early work and how by moving to medium format his work changed from simple pictures to exploring the use of light andcomposition.

In this second of a two part introduction interview Mark Cleghorn, Andy talks about his work with gorillas in Rwanda and how his passion for watching them out ways the time that he shoots with them. He also talks about his manipulation restraints, editing, what he shoots, keywords etc as well touching on how to get into selling wildlife images.
